He joined in November 2024 after postdoctoral roles at Georg-August University of Göttingen, University of Aberdeen, CSIRO (Australia), and Humboldt University of Berlin. His work focuses on biodiversity conservation in protected areas, human-wildlife coexistence, and conservation conflict mitigation. He combines ecological, social, and psychological insights to address conservation challenges in Iran, Papua Indonesia, Cameroon, and Europe.
Research interests include wildlife monitoring techniques, unlawful harvest quantification, and policy-informing strategies for sustainable conservation. He collaborates with IUCN groups including the Persian Leopard Working Group and Deer Specialist Group. Current supervision includes Vianny Rodel Nguimdo Vouffo's PhD on African rainforest biodiversity management.
Recent publications (2022–2025) address roadkill datasets, carnivore behavior in rewilding areas, hunting activity patterns, and fire regime impacts. His work emphasizes evidence-based conservation solutions integrating socio-ecological systems.
