Thomas P. Arnold is a Professor of Biochemistry at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), where he has served since 2017. He holds key roles as Course Director for Biochemistry and Medical Sciences (BMS/SOP) and Biochemistry II (MMS), and chairs the Curriculum Committee for the College of Osteopathic Medicine.
His educational background includes:
- Bachelor of Science in Vertebrate Zoology and Physical Chemistry from the University of Florida
- Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry from the University of South Florida College of Medicine
Dr. Arnold's expertise spans Medical Education, Problem-Based Learning, Pathophysiology, and Biochemistry Education. His research background focuses on growth factor regulation, tyrosine kinases, and disease modeling in cultured human tissues, developed during his decade-long postdoctoral work with the Veterans Administration Research Service.
With over 30 years of experience teaching basic medical sciences, he actively contributes to academic governance as a council member of the Florida Academy of Sciences and chair of its science teaching section.
