Thomas A. Quinn, D.O. serves as a Clinical Professor at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) in Bradenton, Florida, within the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Department of Family Medicine.
His research focuses on Family Medicine, Occupational Medicine, and the historical evolution of osteopathic medicine, with particular emphasis on women's contributions to the field. Quinn has significantly advanced discourse through his scholarly works on medical history and education.
Quinn is the author of the notable book THE FEMININE TOUCH: Women in Osteopathic Medicine (now in second printing) and The College Student’s Guide to Osteopathic Medicine, alongside multiple peer-reviewed journal articles on osteopathic medical history. A PBS documentary based on his book is scheduled for release in late 2014.
His career spans military service as a U.S. Navy physician and Pennsylvania National Guard commander (including roles as 103rd Medical Battalion Commander, 28th Infantry Division Surgeon, and PA National Guard State Surgeon), followed by 22 years of family practice in Lancaster, PA, and executive healthcare positions in Florida including Vice-President of Medical Management at JSA Corporation and National Medical Director for Humana Workers’ Compensation.
