Silvia M. Ferretti

Silvia M. Ferretti, D.O. serves as Provost, Senior Vice President, and Dean of Academic Affairs at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) in Erie, Pennsylvania, where she also holds the position of Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Appointed in 1993 as the first woman dean of an osteopathic medical college, she was promoted to Provost following LECOM's expansion to include a School of Pharmacy. She actively participates in the Student Promotion and Graduation Committee, Curriculum Committee, and Osteopathic Graduate Medical Education Committee.

Her medical education includes a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, an internship at the Hospital of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining LECOM, she served as chief of rehabilitation at Great Lakes Rehabilitation Hospital in Erie.

Dr. Ferretti's professional focus encompasses Osteopathic Medicine leadership, curriculum development, and rehabilitation medicine education. Her work emphasizes institutional growth, accreditation standards, and osteopathic medical training frameworks through her committee roles and administrative leadership.

Her distinguished honors include:

Currently, she serves as a delegate and board trustee for the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association while maintaining active memberships in the American Osteopathic Association, American Osteopathic College of Rehabilitation Medicine, American Congress of Rehabilitation, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Erie County Medical Society. Her advocacy spans medical education policy, professional standards, and community health initiatives.
