Zachary Heeter

Dr. Zachary Heeter serves as Assistant Dean for the Accelerated Pathway and Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) School of Pharmacy, while also directing LECOM's Medical Marijuana Research initiatives. Previously, he contributed to establishing the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) School of Pharmacy program.

His educational background includes:

• Prerequisite coursework at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania
• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from LECOM School of Pharmacy
• Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency at Millcreek Community Hospital

Dr. Heeter maintains clinical expertise across multiple therapeutic domains with significant emphasis on geriatric care:

• Nephrology and Cardiology
• Immunology and Rheumatology
• Infectious Diseases
• Geriatrics through PGY2 residency leadership
• Medical Marijuana Research as Institutional Director

His educational leadership spans curriculum development, residency program establishment, and clinical site implementation across multiple institutions. At LECOM, he managed both PGY1 and PGY2 Geriatric Pharmacy Residency programs, while at UMES he developed an Inpatient Internal Medicine practice site at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Heeter maintains active clinical practice at Millcreek Community Hospital across Acute Care for the Elderly, Transitional Care, and Inpatient Rehabilitation Units, demonstrating his commitment to integrating academic responsibilities with direct patient care.
