Thomas N. Friemel is a Professor of Media Use & Effects at the University of Zurich's Institute for Communication and Media Research. He leads the Department of Media Use and Media Effects, focusing on media effects research, health communication, and social network analysis. His work examines digitalization's societal implications, integrating theoretical, methodological, and practical dimensions. Friemel holds a PhD from the University of Zurich (2008) and has held professorships at the University of Bremen, University of Augsburg, and ETH Zurich. He has been a visiting scholar at Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, and other institutions globally.

Research Interests: Friemel explores media use patterns, health communication strategies, and social network dynamics.
