Dr Thomas Lambourne is a Senior Lecturer in Human Geography at the University of South Wales, affiliated with the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Science. His research focuses on community and tenant participation, urban development, and housing policy. He teaches across built environment courses and leads undergraduate dissertations. Dr Lambourne is a member of the Earth, Ecology and Environment Research and Innovation Group, and serves on the University's Academic Board. He co-leads Professional Practice and Placement programs across the faculty. His work addresses issues of social housing, urban regeneration, and participatory methodologies in community contexts.
Education: PhD in Human Geography, PGCert in Professional Practice in Higher Education, MSc by Research in Human Geography, and BA (Hons) in Geography.
Research emphasizes tenant engagement in social housing through collaborative approaches, with notable projects exploring participatory working's impact on community identity and wellbeing. He has collaborated extensively with registered social landlords and housing associations to analyze tenant participation practices.
