West's research focuses on American political thought, classical and medieval philosophy, and the moral foundations of the American founding. His work critically examines concepts of natural rights, constitutional governance, and the intersection of ethics with political systems across historical periods.
His publications demonstrate sustained engagement with Enlightenment thinkers (Locke, Hobbes), American founding principles, and critiques of modern liberalism. Recent articles explore moral philosophy, historical political transformations, and re-examinations of key political theorists.
While no awards or grants are documented, West maintains an active scholarly profile through books and peer-reviewed articles. He has edited several volumes on American political development and translated classical philosophical works.
