Khalil Habib serves as Associate Professor of Politics and holds the Allison and Dorothy Rouse Chair in Politics at Hillsdale College, with his office located in Kendall 104. His contact email is khabib@hillsdale.edu.
His educational credentials include a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Maine (1996), an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Toronto (1997), and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Boston University (2006).
Dr. Habib specializes in classical and early modern political philosophy, with deep expertise in foundational texts from Thucydides and Aristophanes to Machiavelli and Montesquieu. His research consistently examines the interplay between literature and political theory, exploring themes of statesmanship, liberty, and the tension between faith and reason across historical contexts. Particular attention is given to Shakespearean works as vehicles for political wisdom and the evolution of Western political thought through medieval and Renaissance frameworks.
