Thomas Fontes Andrade

Thomas Fontes Andrade is a Senior Research Assistant at The University of Queensland's School of Public Health, contributing to the First Nations Cancer and Wellbeing Research Program. His work focuses on supporting research projects within the team, including studies on cancer outcomes and healthcare disparities.

In 2023, Thomas completed an honours year in cardio-oncology, investigating the impacts of pre-diagnosis beta-blocker use on breast cancer outcomes under the supervision of Dr. Abbey Diaz, Dr. Shafkat Jahan, and Dr. Susan Jordan.

His research interests align with improving health equity, particularly for Indigenous populations, through evidence-based approaches in cancer care and cardiovascular health.
