Fr. Thomas Esposito is an Associate Professor of Theology and Graduate Director of the Master of Divinity Program at the University of Dallas. He also teaches at the Cistercian Preparatory School. His expertise spans Biblical Theology, Patristic Exegesis, and World Religions. He holds a S.S.D. from the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome and has taught courses on the Old and New Testaments, Biblical Greek, and World Religions.
Education includes a S.S.D. and S.S.L. from the Pontifical Biblical Institute, a S.T.B. from Pontifical Athenaeum Sant'Anselmo, and a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Dallas.
Research interests focus on the Early Church, Patristic Exegesis, New Testament Studies, and World Religions. His publications explore topics like Pauline theology, liturgical roots of the Eucharist, and intertextual connections between biblical texts and literature. He has contributed to journals such as Communio and Logos, and has authored books like The Roots that Clutch and Jesus' Meals with Pharisees and Their Liturgical Roots.
His work bridges biblical scholarship with contemporary theological reflection, emphasizing exegesis' role in prayer and spirituality. He has translated key texts like the Pontifical Biblical Commission’s The Inspiration and Truth of Sacred Scripture.
