Fr. Stephen Gregg, O.Cist., PhD, is an Affiliate Assistant Professor in the Department of English at the University of Dallas. A monk of the Cistercian Abbey of Our Lady of Dallas, he holds advanced degrees in Classics, Theology, and Patristics. His teaching spans English literature, grammar, Latin, Philosophy, Church History, and Patristic studies. He also teaches occasional courses in Classics.
Education:
- B.A. in Latin and Mediæval Studies from The University of the South (Sewanee, Tennessee)
- S.T.B. in Theology from Pontifical Athenaeum of St. Anselm (Rome)
- S.T.L. in Patristic Sciences and Theology from Augustinian Patristic Institute (Rome)
- PhD in Literature from the University of Dallas
Research & Teaching Focus: Integrates monastic scholarship with academic rigor, emphasizing literary tradition, Patristic texts, and classical languages. Courses include Literary Tradition I-IV, Patristic Greek, and Second-Year Latin: Roman Poetry.
