Thomas Chesworth is a doctoral researcher at the Department of Modern Languages, University of Birmingham. His research focuses on feminist, queer, and trans philosophies influenced by Simone de Beauvoir's work on gender and alienation.

His PhD project explores the intersection of Marxism and gender theory, tracing the evolution of alienation concepts in post-Beauvoirian thought. Funded by the Midlands4Cities Doctoral Training Partnership, the thesis examines works by Shulamith Firestone, Monique Wittig, Judith Butler, Karen Barad, and Paul B. Preciado.
