Thomas Blochowicz

Thomas Blochowicz is an Associate Professor at the Institute for Condensed Matter Physics at Technische Universität Darmstadt, where he leads the research group focused on Structure and Dynamics of Amorphous Systems. He serves as Head of the Basic Physics Laboratory Course and maintains an active research program investigating molecular dynamics in disordered materials.

His research spans multiple areas including glass formation, hydrogen-bonding liquids, ionic liquids and ionogels, and binary systems under confinement. Blochowicz's group employs a wide range of complementary experimental techniques to study these systems, with particular expertise in broadband dielectric spectroscopy (BDS), depolarized dynamic light scattering (DDLS), triplet solvation dynamics (TSD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and quasi-elastic neutron scattering (QENS).
