Thiseas Christos Lamnidis is a Staff Scientist in the Population Genetics group at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology (MPI-EVA) in Leipzig, Germany. He holds a PhD in Genetics from Friedrich Schiller University of Jena, with research conducted at MPI-EVA. His work focuses on population history in Europe from the Iron Age to the present, particularly Celtic populations, and developing analytical methods for high-resolution population genetic studies.
Education: BSc in Genetics (University of York, 2013), MSc in Evolutionary Anthropology (Durham University, 2014), PhD in Genetics (Friedrich Schiller University of Jena, 2021).
Research Interests: Reproducible genomic data processing, nf-core/eager pipeline, Minotaur workflow, Poseidon framework. He co-developed tools for ancient DNA analysis and manages the HAAM Community, an open network for human population history research.
Labs/Teams: Active in the ERC-funded MICROSCOPE project and NFDI4Objects-supported Poseidon Framework. Collaborates globally through the HAAM Community.
Notable Contributions: Developed nf-core/eager and Minotaur workflow, contributed to studies on Celtic elites, Caribbean peopling, and pre-Columbian Tiwanaku influence. His work bridges archaeology, genomics, and computational methods.
