Thinh Pham is a PhD candidate at Newcastle University's School of Education, Communication and Language Sciences, supervised by Dr Mei Lin and Dr Sara Ganassin. His research focuses on the learning journey of Confucian Heritage students becoming critical thinkers in UK master's programs. Alongside his studies, he serves as a postgraduate demonstrator in the School of Education, Communication and Language Sciences, School of Psychology, and Humanities and Social Sciences research training programme, and as a research assistant in the Newcastle University Business School.
Thinh holds an MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL from Newcastle University and a BA in English Linguistics and Literature from Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City. Prior to his studies in the UK, he worked as an EFL lecturer in Vietnam for three years. His academic journey has been supported by his supervisors and the School’s research seminars, providing opportunities to develop research skills through workshops and training programmes. He is also engaged in the vibrant academic community at Newcastle, contributing to pedagogic innovation and intercultural communication studies.
