Nguyen has secured significant research funding including an Australian GPs' knowledge study funded by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (2021-2024) and the 'Mummy Buddy' program feasibility study funded by Healthway (2018-2019). These projects examine critical gaps in perinatal mental healthcare delivery and resource utilization.
His academic contributions support UN Sustainable Development Goals related to good health and well-being, with research directly impacting maternal mental health services and psychiatric care accessibility. The fingerprint of his work shows substantial engagement with severe mental illness (100%), obstetrics (60%), prenatal care (41%), and psychotropic agent management (35%).
