معرفی
Thierry Pozzo is a Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Burgundy and a Senior Member of the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF). He works within the INSERM U1093 unit (Cognition-Action and Brain Plasticity), focusing on the tight coupling between Action and Perception, and the idea that cognition is anchored in bodily experiences. His research spans motor control, neural plasticity, and the interaction between Art and Sciences.
- PhD in Neurosciences (Paris VI)
- DEA in Neuroscience (Marseille)
His research interests include the neural mechanisms underlying action production and perception, motor invariants in action execution, the role of mirror neurons in neurodegenerative disorders, cross-modal processing in developmental conditions, and the influence of bodily experiences on cognition. He has contributed to understanding postural adjustments, motor resonance, and the dynamics of whole-body movements through various studies and collaborations.
His scientific work has been recognized by his appointment as a Senior Member of the IUF, and he has published extensively in high-impact journals like Cerebral Cortex, Scientific Reports, and Frontiers series, covering topics from motor control in Parkinson’s disease to kinematic studies in binocular fusion and emotional valence effects on motor planning.
- Senior Member of the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF)
Thierry Pozzo has collaborated extensively across disciplines, working with researchers in cognitive neuroscience, geriatrics, psychology, and rehabilitation medicine. His work involves grants and studies focused on neuroplasticity, action observation, and applications in clinical neuroscience for disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.
He is affiliated with the Faculty of Sports Science at the University of Burgundy and contributes to the INSERM U1093 unit. His research integrates motor control studies, brain imaging, and interdisciplinary approaches to understanding cognition through bodily action and perception.
