معرفی
Romuald Lepers is a Full Professor at the University of Burgundy, affiliated with the 'Cognition, Action, et Plasticité Sensorimotrice' (CAPS) research unit under the UFR STAPS - Faculté des Sciences du Sport. His work focuses on neurophysiology, neuromuscular plasticity, mental fatigue, aging, biomechanics, and exercise physiology.
Education: PhD in Exercise Physiology (Paris-Orsay, 1996). Research emphasizes endurance performance in master athletes, neural control mechanisms, and the effects of eccentric exercise. He has collaborated with institutions like Inserm and international researchers on topics ranging from muscle fatigue to cognitive impacts of physical activity.
Recent publications (2023–2025) explore mental fatigue effects on motor control, physiological adaptations in aging athletes, and neuromuscular responses to electrical stimulation. His work often involves case studies of elite master athletes, such as marathon runners and triathletes. He is a leading expert in understanding how lifelong endurance exercise mitigates age-related declines in performance.
Labs/Teams: CAPS laboratory (INSERM U1093), focusing on sensorimotor plasticity and cognition-action interactions. Active in collaborative projects on fatigue management and exercise innovation.
