Thibault CUENOUD serves as an Associate Professor at Excelia Business School in La Rochelle, France, where he has been teaching since 2017. As an expert in Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) and alternative financing methods, he supervises the MSc Digital Entrepreneurship program and acts as the reference for student entrepreneurs collaborating with EIGSI Engineering School, Chamber of Commerce, and University of La Rochelle. He actively contributes to the Institute for Corporate Social Responsibility through Innovation (IRSI) and co-edits the academic journal Vie et Sciences de l'Entreprise (VSE).
His academic background includes a Doctorate in Economic Sciences from University of Poitiers (2012) and Master's in Economic and Financial Integration from the same institution (2007). Prior to Excelia, he held progressive research and teaching positions at ESCEM in Poitiers and Orléans from 2008-2017.
Dr. CUENOUD's research examines responsible finance in territorial contexts, particularly Nouvelle-Aquitaine, focusing on hybridization of corporate social responsibility with social economy, financing mechanisms for SMEs, and citizen involvement in local financing. His work explores how participatory finance strengthens social capital in communities and drives social innovation through platforms like Efferve'sens and organizations such as MAIF.
His extensive publication record demonstrates consistent scholarly output through 2025, with recent work analyzing territorial social responsibility, organizational paradoxes of financial inclusion, and the emergence of third places through collective entrepreneurship. His research bridges theoretical frameworks with practical case studies across finance, social entrepreneurship, and sustainable development disciplines.
Dr. CUENOUD collaborates extensively with mutual insurance companies, chambers of commerce, urban communities, and Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, demonstrating strong connections between academic research and practical applications in responsible finance and social innovation.
