Therese Svensson is a Project Researcher and Academy Research Fellow funded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and Nature & Kultur. She is affiliated with the Department of Culture and Learning at Södertörn University, where she has taught courses in literary studies since 2024.

- Decolonizing methodologies in early 20th-century Swedish fiction
- Colonial logics in canonical texts
In her doctoral dissertation The Coagulated Heart of Whiteness (2020), she pioneered decolonizing readings of Swedish classics like Hjalmar Söderberg’s Doktor Glas and Karin Boye’s Astarte. Her current project "From the darkness we rise towards the light" analyzes interwar workers' literature authors such as Dan Andersson, Eyvind Johnson, and Moa Martinson.

Therese has extensive teaching experience from junior high schools, folk high schools, and universities since 2004. Her work bridges historical literary analysis with contemporary decolonial theory.
