Therese Andersson is a Senior Lecturer in Aesthetics at the University of Gothenburg. She completed her doctoral thesis in 2006 at Stockholm University and has held postdoctoral and project positions funded by prominent Swedish foundations.

Her research bridges popular culture, film, television, celebrity studies, and fashion/dress research, focusing on interdisciplinary cultural analysis. Her work includes projects like Beauty Box (2006), Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette (2007–2009), and Velcro, Button and Zip (since 2010). These publications explore intersections of media, identity, and materiality.
