Maria Ben Saad is an Associate Professor in History, Theory and Context with a focus on Fashion at Beckmans College of Design, where she also serves as Head of Department for KoKos. She holds degrees from the Stockholm School of Journalism and Stockholm University (arts and French).

Her professional work extends beyond academia into fashion curation, editing, and film. She has served as fashion editor for Bibel magazine, co-editor for the SVT program Velvet, and curated the traveling exhibition Swedish Fashion – Exploring a New Identity, showcased in London, Moscow, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Beijing. Additionally, she co-created the film BACK for SVT with Göran Olsson and Stefania Malmsten.
Leveraging her interdisciplinary background, her research intersects fashion theory, cultural analysis, and curatorial practices.
