Theresa Loar is a part-time Lecturer at George Washington University, specializing in business and human rights. She holds over thirty years of leadership experience across corporations, NGOs, and government, including roles at the U.S. Department of State during the Clinton Administration. Currently, she serves as a Senior Advisor at BSR (Business for Social Responsibility), focusing on sustainability and human rights initiatives.
Education: BA from Rutgers College.
Expertise: Modern slavery prevention in supply chains, women’s rights advocacy, and global corporate governance. She developed the Prevention, Protection and Prosecution framework addressing human trafficking and led anti-slavery initiatives at CH2M (now Jacobs Engineering). Her teaching includes courses on International Business and Modern Slavery.
Affiliations: Board member of Women’s Foreign Policy Group, RAD-AID International, and Vital Voices Global Partnership; Trustee of the Social Mobility Foundation.
