Theopia Jackson, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist and currently serves as the Chair of the Humanistic Clinical Psychology Department and Program Director at Saybrook University in Pasadena, California. She holds a master's degree from Howard University (1986) and a doctorate from The Wright Institute (1995). Dr. Jackson has over 30 years of clinical practice, including roles at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland and leadership in the Sickle Cell Community Advisory Council. She specializes in child, adolescent, and family therapy, particularly for populations with chronic illnesses and complex trauma.
Her professional affiliations include the Association of Black Psychologists (past president), American Psychological Association (Division 32), and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Dr. Jackson co-founded the Therapist-in-Residency Program (TnRP), an African-centered initiative, and promotes Emotional Emancipation CirclesSM for community healing. She advocates for culturally-affirming healthcare and integrates community wisdom into therapeutic practices, emphasizing resilience and spiritual healing.
