Theodorou Georgios

Dr. Theodorou Georgios is an Associate Professor at the Laboratory of Animal Breeding & Husbandry within the Department of Animal Production at the Agricultural University of Athens. His academic journey includes a BSc in Biochemistry from King's College London (2001), an MSc in Molecular Life Sciences (2002), and a PhD in Agricultural Sciences (2009) from the Agricultural University of Athens. Postdoctoral research spans institutions such as Università degli Studi di Milano (2010), Agricultural University of Athens (2012-2015), and the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens (2012-2013).

His research focuses on gene expression regulation and epigenetic effects in livestock, bioactive components in dairy products, and mammary gland molecular physiology. Recent work explores genomic selection for broiler traits, functional properties of dairy by-products, and antioxidant mechanisms in animal nutrition. Over 30 peer-reviewed publications demonstrate expertise in genomic technologies, food science, and animal health.

Teaching responsibilities include courses on genetic technologies in animal husbandry. His lab investigates innovative applications of agricultural by-products in feed supplements and meat quality improvement.
