Dr. Tharusha Jayasena is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing (CHeBA), UNSW Sydney. Her work focuses on neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer’s, with an emphasis on dietary and molecular factors influencing brain health. She holds a PhD, MSc, and BSc from UNSW.
Her research spans fatty acid metabolism, NAD+ pathways, and biomarker discovery, leveraging mass spectrometry and multi-omic techniques. She collaborates on large cohorts like the Sydney Memory and Ageing Study to investigate cognition-diet links.
