معرفی
Thaddeus Golos is a Professor at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, affiliated with the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center. His research focuses on placental biology, maternal-fetal interface dynamics, and the use of nonhuman primate models to study viral infections (e.g., Zika, Mpox) and genetic interventions. He has been a member of the Embryology Reproduction Program (ERP) since 1995.
Education: BS (1978, Marquette University), MS (1982, University of Illinois), PhD (1984, University of Illinois), and postdoctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania.
Research interests include placental development, immune interactions during pregnancy, and translational studies using primate models. His work addresses placental pathologies, viral transmission, and genomic editing for disease modeling. Recent studies involve Mpox vertical transmission and Zika virus impacts on maternal-fetal health.
Advising and grants: Supervised 10 PhD and MS students, focusing on placental biology and reproductive virology. Collaborations include NIH-funded projects on primate models.
Labs/Teams: Leads the Golos Laboratory at the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center, specializing in primate-based research.
