Terry Newman is a Lecturer in Fashion & Design at Regent's University London, where she currently leads the FSM705 and FSM710 modules for the International Fashion Marketing MA programme. Previously, she held Senior Lecturer roles at the University for the Creative Arts and the University of West England. With a BA (Hons), PGCERT, and FHEA credentials, her academic focus includes fashion journalism, magazine publishing, and creative writing pedagogy.
Her research explores how clothing reflects cultural narratives, social dynamics, and artistic expression. Key areas include celebrity style analysis, fashion history, and the intersection of art and dress. Terry's work bridges academic rigor with industry practice, informed by her 15+ years in fashion journalism, styling, and TV presenting for channels like Channel 4.
Notable publications include best-selling biographies like Harry Styles and the Clothes He Wears (2022) and Beyonce and the Clothes she Wears (2024), alongside academic contributions to conferences such as the Fashion Colloquia series. She has also served as a consultant for documentaries like Twiggy (2025) and Mary Quant's fashion history projects.
Terry's teaching spans modules in fashion marketing, branding, history, and digital media, reflecting her industry experience. Her current supervisory role focuses on MA dissertations in fashion studies.
