Elizabeth Kealy-Morris

Elizabeth Kealy-Morris is Senior Lecturer in Dress and Belonging at Manchester Fashion Institute. Her interdisciplinary research examines cultural memory through dress practices, with emphasis on inclusivity, disability, and identity formation.

Research explores body dressing work - the negotiation of social expectations through clothing - particularly regarding spinal deformities. Recent projects investigate AI-driven apparel solutions for underrepresented bodies and co-creative learning with Indian artisans.

Publications analyze cultural memory of dress, including American suburban aesthetics and pandemic masking practices. As Associate Editor of Fashion, Style and Popular Culture, she curates special issues on dressing through pandemics.

Initiatives include the Global Artisan Project connecting UK/Indian students with traditional craftspeople, and public panels on fashion inclusivity at Manchester Art Gallery.
