Teresa Johnson

Teresa Johnson is Professor of Marine Policy at the University of Maine's School of Marine Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. from Rutgers University and directs the Johnson Marine Social Science Lab.

Her applied research employs ethnographic approaches to examine:

• Marine fisheries governance and community impacts
• Shellfish and seaweed aquaculture development
• Offshore wind energy transitions
• Social-ecological resilience to institutional change
• Participatory approaches in marine resource management

She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in marine policy and advises students in Marine Policy and Ecology and Environmental Sciences (EES) programs.
