Teresa A Milner is the Thomas H. Meikle Professor in Medical Education and Administration and Professor of Neuroscience at the Weill Cornell Medical College, Brain and Mind Research Institute since 2012. Her research focuses on neuroplasticity, sex hormone receptor dynamics, and stress-related neurodegenerative mechanisms.
- Fields of Interest: Neuroscience, Estrogen Receptor Signaling, Neuroinflammation, Hypertension Neurobiology, Neuroplasticity, Medical Education
Research Themes explore how estrogen receptors modulate synaptic plasticity, neuroinflammatory responses in Alzheimer's disease models, and stress-induced alterations in opioid receptor distribution. Recent work examines perimenopausal transitions in neurovascular dysfunction and hippocampal inflammation.
Publications (2022-2025) reveal novel insights into TNFα-induced oxidative stress, ERβ agonist effects on NMDA receptors, and single-cell splicing patterns in brain aging and disease. Collaborative studies map sex differences in angiotensin II hypertension and opioid system plasticity.
- Scientific Award: Thomas H. Meikle Professorship in Medical Education (2025)
