Terence O'Brien is a Professor of Neuroscience at Monash University, serving as Chair of Medicine (Neurology) and Head of the School of Translational Medicine. He holds roles such as Program Director of Alfred Brain and Deputy Director of Research at Alfred Health. His career includes former positions like Van Cleef Roet Chair of Neuroscience (2017-2020) and James Stewart Chair of Medicine at the University of Melbourne (2008-2017). He trained at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Royal Melbourne Hospital, and the Mayo Clinic.
Education and Clinical Background: Clinical and research training at St. Vincent’s and Royal Melbourne Hospitals, followed by advanced training at the Mayo Clinic (1995-1998). Served as Immediate Past President of the Epilepsy Society of Australia.
