Teppo Särkämö is an Associate Professor of Neuropsychology at the Department of Psychology and Logopedics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Helsinki. He serves as a Senior Scientist at the Cognitive Brain Research Unit (CBRU) and leads the Music, Ageing and Rehabilitation Team (MART). His research focuses on the neural mechanisms of music and speech perception, their deficits (aphasia, amusia), and music-based rehabilitation in neurological disorders like stroke and Alzheimer's disease.
