Dr. Teodor Mitew is a Senior Lecturer in Digital Media at the University of Sydney, within the School of Art, Communication and English and the Discipline of Media and Communication. He previously held roles as Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China, and Senior Lecturer at the University of Wollongong. His research spans actor-network theory, philosophy of technology, and Internet Studies, with a focus on IoT, swarm networks, memetic warfare, and object-oriented ontology. Mitew's interdisciplinary work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications in smart clothing, cybersecurity, and digital media logistics. He has advised numerous PhD students, including Travis Wall, Owen Godfrey, Ahmad Shehabat, and Travis Holland, on topics ranging from meme warfare to terrorism communication networks. His publications include 100 Atmospheres: Studies in Scale and Wonder (2019) and articles in journals like Georgetown Journal of International Affairs and First Monday. Mitew also leads academic program development, enhancing curricula across international campuses. His industry engagement ensures real-world relevance to his research.
