Dr. Tegan Larin is a Research Fellow in the School of Engineering at RMIT University, specializing in interdisciplinary disaster studies. Her work focuses on the 2023 Maui Wildfires, integrating sociology, feminist theory, policy, and design to address disaster resilience in rural communities. Tegan has held roles at La Trobe University (Research Assistant) and Monash University (Postdoctoral Fellow). She collaborates with organizations like Gender and Disaster Australia (GADAus), contributing to UN Sustainable Development Goals 5 (Gender Equality), 11 (Sustainable Cities), and 13 (Climate Action).
Her research interests span climate change adaptation, urban planning, and public policy, with a focus on marginalized communities' vulnerabilities. Teaching expertise includes Urban Planning, International Political Economy, and Research for Design. Tegan actively disseminates findings through publications in the Australian Journal of Emergency Management and high-profile speaking engagements.
