Dr. Tegan Larin is a Casual Academic in the Sociology department at La Trobe University, affiliated with the Climate Change Adaptation Lab. Her work focuses on climate change adaptation, urban planning, public policy, and feminist theory. She holds a PhD from Monash University (2022) and a Master's in International Relations from the University of Melbourne (2016). Previously, she was a Postdoc Research Fellow at Monash University (2023–2024).
Her interdisciplinary research bridges social/political theory, urban planning, and gender studies. Notable collaborations include work with Gender and Disaster Australia (GADAus) on gender-responsive disaster policies and the impacts of disasters on gender/sexual minorities. She examines structural inequalities in climate adaptation strategies and critiques euphemisms in urban policy related to the sex industry.
Teaching interests span Urban Planning, International Political Economy, and Australian Society in a Global Context. Her research outputs emphasize policy analysis, spatial justice, and marginalized communities' resilience. Her lab affiliation reflects commitment to applied research with community and policy engagement.
