Ted Morrow is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Evolutionary Genetics of Sexual Conflict at Karlstad University, Sweden. His research focuses on the evolutionary biology of sexual conflict, particularly investigating how genetic loci mediate sexually antagonistic selection and its implications for human disease. He leads the course 'BIGC14 - Livets utveckling och mångfald' (Evolution and biodiversity of life). Funding for his work has been provided by prestigious organizations including The Royal Society, the European Research Council, and the Swedish Research Council.
Collaborations include researchers at institutions such as University of Sussex, UCL, CNRS Montpellier, and Monash University. His work combines experimental studies with Drosophila melanogaster and human genomic data to unravel how sexual conflict shapes genetic variation and disease susceptibility. Recent papers address topics like recombination dynamics, genital evolution in bedbugs, and sexually antagonistic polymorphisms in human traits.
Awards and grants have supported his projects on sexual selection intensity, sex chromosome coevolution, and the evolutionary drivers of male-biased selection pressures. His lab explores both microevolutionary mechanisms and macroevolutionary patterns, contributing to foundational theories in evolutionary genetics.
