Taylor Watterson

Taylor Watterson is an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Retzky College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Systems, Outcomes and Policy. She directs the Systems-based Collaborative Research for Patient Safety Lab (SCRPTS Lab) and serves as Center Affiliate at the UIC Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomic Research, Institute Member of the UIC Institute for Health Data Science Research, and Public Voices fellow at The OpEd Project.

• Research Focus: Medication safety, health information technology (CancelRx implementation), occupational fatigue in pharmacists, pharmacy education, and systems engineering approaches to patient safety

Research Trends: Recent publications show expertise in health IT implementation (CancelRx), occupational fatigue measurement, OTC medication safety for seniors, and systems engineering approaches to pharmacy practice. Studies employ SEIPS framework, EPIS model, and human factors engineering principles.
