Taylor Olsen is a Lecturer in the Department of Design at The Ohio State University (OSU), specializing in design foundations education. He holds an M.F.A. in Design - Digital Animation & Interactive Media from OSU’s Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD), and a B.S. in Digital Arts & Design from Dakota State University.
His research focuses on Digital Humanities, real-time musical instruments via animation techniques, and visualization strategies. Notable work includes a thesis presented at the New Interfaces for Musical Instruments (NIME) conference, combining visual programming and signal processing for a real-time musical instrument. He has exhibited motion-captured animation with the Ohio Dance Group on PBS and at the Wexner Center for the Arts.
Taylor currently serves as Fabrication Lab technician in Hopkins Hall and has judged local Columbus film festivals. His expertise spans interactive media, motion graphics, and undergraduate design education.
