Tayler Hoekstra serves as an Assistant Professor in Engineering & Physics at Dordt University, where he teaches courses and conducts research on biomechanics and human motion analysis. He holds a B.S. in Engineering with a Biomedical Emphasis from Dordt University (2016) and an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of South Dakota (2019).
His research focuses on biomechanics methods, particularly motion capture and mechanical modeling of the human foot during uneven terrain gait. Outside academia, he engages with students through Dordt’s annual STEAMFest by guiding the creation of simple prosthetics and leads a campus Bible study, integrating faith with academic mentorship.
Hoekstra’s personal interests include music, swimming, reading, and board/card games, reflecting a balanced approach to education and community involvement.
