Andrea Kwaczala

Andrea Kwaczala is a Biomedical Engineering Associate Professor at Western New Engineering University (WNEU), with a focus on biomechanics, prosthetic and orthotic design, and clinical engineering partnerships. She advises the Society of Women Engineers and operates the Human Performance Lab at Sleith Hall, WNEU.

Her research integrates motion analysis technologies with assistive device development, emphasizing interprofessional collaborations between engineers and medical professionals. The lab provides specialized services including:

• Running Evaluation and Training
• Return-to-Sport Assessments
• Throwing Mechanics Analysis
• Gait and Foot Pressure Analysis
• VO2 Max Testing

Key technologies utilized include high-speed video capture, force plates, Delsys EMG systems, and functional movement screening. The lab works with clinical partners like Shriners Hospitals for Children and Connecticut Children's Medical Center.
