Dr. Tatevik Gyulamiryan is an Associate Professor of Spanish in the World Languages and Cultures Department at Hope College, joining the faculty in 2015. She specializes in language instruction, literature of Spain’s Golden Age, and comparative studies.

Her research integrates Bakhtinian re-accentuation theory with cognitive approaches to early modern Spanish literature, focusing on themes of mind-reading, masking, and performative identity in Cervantes’ works and their transatlantic adaptations.
Recent publications analyze quixotic archetypes in global novels, cognitive framing in Don Quixote adaptations, and transmedia representations of Cervantes. Her 2025 co-edited volume explores Cervantes’ fictionalized cultural legacy across film, theater, and literature.
