Tariq S. Almontaser

Tariq S. Almontaser is a Lecturer in Accounting at Coventry University's Department of Economic, Finance and Accounting within the College of Business and Law. He holds a Doctoral Degree in Accounting from the University of Reading (2019), a Master’s in Financial Accountancy from the Libyan Academy of Higher Studies (2001), and a Bachelor’s in Financial Accountancy from Libya’s Faculty of Accounting (1992). With 15+ years of academic experience across institutions in the UK and Libya, he specializes in teaching accounting modules such as Principles of Business Accounting and Auditing and Assurance.

His research focuses on social/environmental accounting, corporate sustainability, and SDG reporting. Three core research projects emphasize methodological advancements in CSR analysis: measuring dialogical attributes of CSR disclosure via semantic analysis, stakeholders' engagement with web-based CSR content, and assessing web CSR information updateability. These methodologies apply broadly to quantitative web-based research.

Dr. Almontaser is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA, 2020) and active in professional networks like the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) and CorpTax Alliance (as a regional tax expert for Libya/Tunisia since 2010). He has presented research at international conferences including the oikos Young Scholars Finance Academy (Zurich, 2017) and the BAFA Annual Conference (Birmingham, 2019).
