Tarek Abdallah is an Associate Professor of Operations at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, since 2018. He holds a Ph.D. in Operations Management from NYU Stern School of Business, an MSc in Management Science from the University of Waterloo, and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Middle East Technical University.
His research focuses on the intersection of operations management, economics, and marketing, particularly in pricing and revenue management for traditional and innovative marketplaces. Key interests include subscription services, bundle pricing mechanisms, and demand estimation from censored sales data. He has published extensively on topics like dynamic pricing, inventory scarcity effects, and large-scale bundling strategies.
Abdallah's work emphasizes practical applications of operations research, combining theoretical models with real-world data. His recent studies explore data-driven demand predictions, regime-dependent pricing approximations, and the impact of market growth on delivery systems. His research has been recognized with the Harold W. MacDowell Ph.D. Dissertation Award.
He teaches courses on decision models, prescriptive analytics, and operations management, emphasizing tools like optimization and Monte Carlo simulation for strategic decision-making.
