Tara Stevens

Dr. Tara Stevens is a Professor of Educational Psychology at Texas Tech University and a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP). Her research examines mathematics achievement predictors, teacher trauma, and the relationship between physical activity and cognition.

Research areas include:

• Mathematics self-efficacy and interest development
• Teacher trauma related to school violence and crises
• ADHD diagnosis and academic outcomes
• Physical activity impacts on student learning
• Instrument development for educational assessment

Dr. Stevens has received funding from the National Science Foundation, AERA/IES, and Mathematical Association of America. Her publications address diverse topics including ADHD diagnosis, television viewing impacts, and the development of mathematics interest inventories.
