Poonam Dubal

Poonam Dubal is a Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of the Psychology Clinic at Southern Methodist University (SMU). She holds licenses as a Licensed Psychologist (LP) and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) in Texas, and is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. Her roles include overseeing the SMU Psychology Clinic and leading Carewright Clinical Services, a private practice specializing in psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions.

Dr. Dubal earned her doctorate in School Psychology from Loyola University Chicago (APA-Accredited), with doctoral training at Cypress Fairbanks ISD and postdoctoral work at Irving ISD and Momentous Institute. She serves on the board of the Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas and is certified in Mindfulness Instruction and trained in EMDR therapy.

Her clinical expertise spans psychoeducational, autism, and neuropsychological assessments, alongside therapy using person-centered, cognitive behavioral, and mindfulness-based approaches. She actively contributes to community mental health through her board roles and interdisciplinary practice.
