Tara MacDonald

Tara MacDonald is Professor and Chair of English at the University of Idaho, specializing in nineteenth-century British literature and women's writing. She holds a PhD from McGill University and previously taught at the University of Amsterdam.

Her research examines gender, affect, and narrative in Victorian sensation fiction. Recent monographs analyze embodiment in sensation novels and representations of masculinity in New Woman literature.

Professor MacDonald is co-editing The Routledge Companion to Sensation Fiction and serves on editorial boards for Studies in the Novel and IET Radar, Sonar & Navigation. She teaches courses on Victorian literature and Gothic fiction.
