Tanja van Veldhuizen is an Assistant Professor in Legal Psychology at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, affiliated with the Faculty of Law's Department of Criminal Law and Criminology. She is also a member of the Amsterdam Laboratory for Legal Psychology (ALLP) and part of Empirical and Normative Studies. Previously, she held roles as a postdoctoral researcher at Utrecht University and a lecturer at Leiden University. She has advised the Dutch Ministry of Defence on military social safety and trains practitioners globally on asylum procedures.
Education:
- BSc (Honours) in Social Psychology, Utrecht University
- MSc in Social and Health Psychology (Research Master), Utrecht University
- PhD in Legal Psychology, Maastricht University and University of Gothenburg via the Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate program
