Dr. Tan Hock Siew is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Science, Monash University Malaysia. His expertise spans microbial genetics, RNA biology, and antimicrobial resistance. He holds a PhD from Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, Germany, focusing on Helicobacter pylori's small RNAs. His research aims to combat pathogens via RNA-based strategies, including developing aptamers and riboregulators. He has led projects like the Shigella-Caenorhabditis elegans infection model and aptamer-based antitoxins.
